A selection of 100 photographs (out of 193) taken on my travels to Venezuela. My pictures are centred on the capital - Caracas. I hope you will read my blog of this visit - and these pictures can be used in conjunction with the relevant part (30 Aug - 01 Sep) of the blog at: https://2015august.royschofield.com My thoughts: Caracas had an appalling record for homicides and was classed amongst the top few most dangerous cities in the world.Thankfully, I didn't encounter any real problems and the people I came into contact with were helpful and pleasant. I had been warned that it was too dangerous to travel to - and was told afterwards that I was lucky not to be at least robbed! The centre of the city had some very attractive buildings - and normal shopping precincts - although outside that area it didn't look too welcoming! [Please click on the thumbnail images to enlarge.
